You too can go from this to this with a little bit of hail damage and a whole lotta home insurance.

Preston says "I want one" when he wants another mighty magic minis popsicle. Here is how the conversation went last night.

Preston- Mommy I want one
Mommy-No, you have already had 2
Preston-I want one
Mommy-No, you can have another one tomorrow
Preston-Daddy, I want one
Daddy-No, what did your mommy say
Preston-I want one
Daddy-No, you cant have another one
Insert puppy eyes and bottom lip out
Preston-Daddy see my booboo
Daddy-You have a new booboo
Preston-yeah
Daddy-Ok you can have one

Where did you go Calgon???

What ever happened to the Calgon Take Me Away commercials? I miss those commercials. I could use some Calgon take me away right now. Soaking in a nice hot bath and I dont mean a bath where the kids are also in it with all of thier toys and strawberry bubble bath with tear free shampoo. A bath just for me, no kids, no husband asking where the remote is. No one begging for popsicles. We have had 3 showings of our house in the past week (its up for sale). Thats a showing every other day and just enough time apart for my little monsters (loving kids) to rip through the house like a tornado. Just enough time for little fingerprints to be on cabinets, fridge, windows and mirrors. Just enough time for every toy in the house to be pulled out and left on the floor, just enough time for cheese to be ground into the carpet and popsicles sticks to be placed everywhere except the trash can.
We are also right in the middle of getting new siding on the house (thank you hail damage), so on top of everything else there is constant banging and has been for 3 days now. How long does it take to replace siding on a house...Im thinking FOREVER. There is also a pile of old siding all over the yard, atleast thats one pile of stuff that I dont have to clean up.

Constant banging, everything rattling in the house, never ending cleaning, strangers in my house, strangers outside my house, 2 messy kids =equals one big headache.
Where did you go Calgon???

Terrible 2's....OH MY!!!!

Preston is going through a metamorphic change and not for the better. He isnt going from an ugly caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly he is going through the terrible 2's and what happens after that or what he will turn in to is still debatable. We call him ornery..thats a nice way of saying little monster.

He throws toys, he says no, he has stopped using the potty and he insist on sleeping with us. Im ready to wrap him up myself into a cacoon and let him out when he is 3.

....and I mean that in the nicest way possible that only a mother would understand.

Trinitys Birthday weekend

We had a wonderful time at Fort Rapids water park for Trinitys birthday. We stayed 2 nights and at one time had up to 12 family members there to celebrate. The water park was incredible and the kids loved it.

Preston's new haircut. He screams bloody murder when I use the hair clippers on him, he doesn't like the sound of them. This time he only screamed......the entire time.

Fun Friday

Friday after dinner we took the kids to the local pool. It was a little chilly from the rain the night before so we made our way to the inside pool....much warmer. We then came home, popped popcorn for a night of High School Musical 2. Cute movie, modern day "Grease" as far as having a story line and music all in one. Fun times.

Trinity got a few early birthday presents from us. A Hannah Montana poster was hanging in her room when she got to our house and a soccer net and ball were waiting for her. She was very excited, she has said many times she wants to play soccer.

Tween birthday party

This month Trinity turns 6 but going on 12 it feels like at times. We are staying 2 nights at Fort Rapids indoor water park, its down the road from our house. (http://www.fortrapids.com/)

We are throwing her a surprise Hannah Montana party in the hotel room. She is getting tons of new school clothes, lots of hello kitty items, and a vanity and stool for her room. The days of her asking for toys are gone and instead she is asking for clothes, anything Hannah Montana or High School Musical. It was not easy finding Hannah Montana items, most were sold out and no one makes cakes with her on it....obviously Krogers doesnt know just how popular she is.

Watching her grow up so fast reminds me of a funny story about Trinity when she was 3. I had decorated the house for the 4th of July. I put out the door wreath and flags. One flag on the flag pole attached to the house and another smaller flag attached to a stick was among the flowers. The previous week Trinity and I had worked in the flower garden and she helped me plant a few things. Trinity had just arrived at our house and came running yelling "Heather we grew a flag, we grew a flag"

Happy Birthday Trinity, I love you!

Tan lines

Hard to believe that its already August, the end of summer is near. Tan lines will soon fade away. Obviously my son did not inherit my fair freckly skin. Its a cute sight to see my son run naked through the house and all you get a glimpse of is his white butt.
The weather has been hot, hot and humid. Its been upper 90's with heat index lingering 100. We have been spending our evenings at the pool to cool down. Winter is around the corner and winter time in Ohio sucks.

Letting go

Letting go is so hard to do especially when it comes to your children's belongings. This weekend is our annual community yard sale. I don't do yard sales, however this year I am participating. We have our house up for sale so now is a good time to get rid of the clutter in our basement. The only problem is the clutter happens to be my sons items that he has outgrown. We have a million toys downstairs and as much as I would love to hang on to them just because they have memories or that Id love to hang on to them in hopes that we may have another little one its time to let go. Its time to clean up the basement for moving purposes, to sell the items at a discount to someone who actually needs them, and to use the money for future items...such as more toys. For some reason its really hard to let the toys go. I also have 7 large plastic bins full of clothes but that's another issue to tackle later. I feel bad for sneaking the toys past my son so that we can sell them. He doesn't play with them anymore and they are infant toys, but you know how it goes when your children see a toy that was put away.....they suddenly want to play with it no matter how small it is to them now.
I must be the toy monster to my son, the woman who takes his toys he no longer plays with, gives them to someone else and doesn't care that he may want to play or atleast look at them someday. I will make it up to you little boy, monster trucks are in your future, out with the weeble wobbles and in with the cool trucks.
