Sold

We have sold our house and its bittersweet. Things to do in the meantime...
  1. Find a house to purchase
  2. Agree on a house to purchase
  3. Purchase the house that I want in the end and not the one my husband wants
  4. Pack
  5. State the obvious that we have to much shit
  6. Beg my inlaws to watch the kids so they dont accidently get packed into a box
  7. Freak out
  8. Panic
  9. Drink
  10. Unpack
  11. Spend the next year getting our new house just the way I want it.
  12. Redecorate every 3 years to drive my husband nuts
  13. Drink some more

Mmmm breakfast of champions

If my son could speak in a way that an adult could understand completely, his request this morning would of gone something like this, instead of a word here and there, pointing and dragging the cereal box out of the cabinet himself.

"Mommy I want Franken Berry cereal this morning, you know the pink cereal with the yummy tasting marshmallow's and the pink Frankenstein on the box, the one with the marshmallows, yeah that one, but I only want the marshmallow's, yep just the marshmallow's hold the cereal please, no cereal mommy just marshmallows".

Birthday wish silly but true

Growing up a kid in my class in elementary school told us that he owned a monkey. I always hoped that he would bring his pet monkey to show and tell but he didn't, I never saw a picture of the monkey either so I have no proof that he actually had one, kids can say a lot of things to try and impress their friends but that doesn't matter because that day changed my life forever. OK probably not forever more like for the next 10 minutes but I too wanted a monkey. Each year when I get a birthday wish since the age of 9 I have wished for a monkey. I'm not sure what I would do with a monkey, but we have a lot in common. I love bananas, I love to climb and I love Curious George. This weekend on my birthday I wish for a monkey as I have for every birthday since 9. I'm hoping that at some point in my life that eventually I will get that monkey that my birthday wish will come true and I will get to name him George and we will eat bananas together. It may sound silly to continue to wish for the same thing that will never come true but even as I get older I cant help but wish for it. I cant break the tradition now, the world might come to an end or worse what if the year I decide not to wish for a monkey and I was actually going to get a monkey as a present but since I didn't wish for it that he was returned. That would be tragic. This weekend as I spend time with my husband and son, as we go out to eat to celebrate (by the way hubby I want to go out to eat for my birthday) , as I enter another year of my life I will be wishing for a monkey.

  • My neighborhood grocery store has finally stocked up on Cracked Pepper and Olive Oil Triscuits...welcome back into my life. You have been missed.
  • Summer must be around the corner cause the grocery store also has fresh corn on the cob for the first time all winter. My mouth is watering already for grilled corn on the cob, excuse me while I wipe the drool from my face.
  • Working out 3-4 nights a week at the local Y is paying off and my ass is getting smaller ....its about time ass, thanks for finally keeping up with the rest of the bod.
  • I'm getting excited about moving and getting the chance to decorate a house all over again. This will be my chance to go bold this time and use some different color. My advice to my husband is to just shut your eyes and don't open them till all is said and done. Don't panic its just paint.
  • Potty training my 2 year old son...I'm tempted to hook up a bucket on my son's Diego tool belt and let him wear it all day and just empty as needed.
  • I got my hubby a Rubik Cube for Christmas and let me tell you he spends a lot of time trying to figure it out. Its not just a game anymore it has turned into a mission for him. Wives if you want a little bit of time to yourself buy him a rubik cube, it will drive him nuts but give you enough time to grab a book and soak in the tub. A woman would just put it down and say oh well but a man HAS to figure it out.

Hubbys Bday

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy 38th Birthday dear Hubby, Happy Birthday to you!!!

Today on your birthday I'm sure you are going to reflect back on your life and think about the things you have accomplished , the good (marrying me) the bad (not marrying me sooner), the changes (kids) , and lets not forget the adventures (moving-lots of moving). I thought that you would want to be reminded of the good things you have done, the wonderful things you have taught our kids and the valuable lessons you have provided to our son to guide him through life...... However nothing came to mind other than this bit of novelty that you managed to teach our son. Happy Birthday!

wii, weee, weeee, weeeeeee

This month my hubby and I both have birthdays less than 2 weeks apart. For our birthday this year we bought ourselves a wii. Not from the store mind you after trying to find one ever since we played one at my sisters house over Christmas. We bid on one on ebay, we got outbid, we called every walmart, best buy, and target with no luck. Finally we found one on craigslist and it came with 2 of everything and the seller lived around the corner from us...yeah!!!! Bring on the games hopefully I can beat atleast one of the kids....maybe not.

Is it over yet? Christmas has come and gone and I gotta say Im not sorry to see it go. After having 4 Christmas events which include opening presents, food and family we are exhausted. When you have a blended family, live 2 states away from your parents, and have a 2 year old it can be a bit overwhelming. Every year I say this is the last year that we are traveling at Christmas, we are staying home, we arent going anywhere, no suitcases to pack and no schedules to try and figure out then Christmas comes around again and what do we do...we travel.

Our Christmas this year included opening presents with the kids at our house on the Saturday before Christmas, leaving Sunday for the inlaws, opening presents at their house on Christmas morning, returning Trinity (stepdaughter) to her mothers house Christmas evening so she can have Christmas with her, driving morning after Christmas to TN and having Christmas at 2 more locations in TN which include opening presents, eating, visiting with family...the whole nine yards. It makes me tired just thinking about it all over again.

We are back home, decorations are going back into their boxes, toys, toys and more toys are all over the house. It was nice seeing everyone but their is nothing like being back home even if we came back to 4 inches of snow after not even wearing a jacket in TN.
