Our sweet neighbors left this note on the door for Preston to see when he gets off the bus this afternoon.

Have you ever taken a step back and looked at your life? Sometimes I walk down the steps in the morning and realize wow this is my house, wow Im in my mid 20's (ok so thats a little white lie) and I have a kid, Im a stay at home mom, I have great friends and then I realize just how blessed I am to have these things. I sometimes wonder what happened between 18 years of age-till now, its all a blur and Im not sure where the time went. Its as if this is where I was always supposed to be all along. Im glad God didnt give up on me when I gave up on myself at times.

Today I got Preston up and at em' early. He needs to start getting up early in time for school. The bus will be picking him up at 8:30 each morning so we are getting up a few minutes after 7. This morning we were out the door and at the grocery by 8am. At noon we met some friends at the park and played for a few hours as well as had lunch before going to meet his teacher. I went to his school yesterday evening to meet his teacher but today it was Preston's turn. He seemed to really like her but I think I annoyed him by making him walk outside 2 times and then show me which door he has to go into and then walk me to his class as if he just got off the bus. Tomorrow he has to go to take a test to see where his skills are at and then Tuesday is the first day of actual kindergarten. He seems to like things so far. I hope his enthusiasm continues.

Stop school bus Stop

Preston ran down the stairs this morning screaming my name yelling mom, mom did I miss my school bus. Guess he is ready for school to start....and possibly having the same dream that we have all experienced in life, you know the one where you miss the school bus and your running down the street chasing and yelling it to stop only to realize that your buck naked. Am I the only one who has had this dream????

Good guilt vs bad guilt

Today we are going to talk about good guilt vs bad guilt because guilt gets to everyone at some point. Here are my guilts:

Good guilt is the dipping dots Im eating right now, bad guilt is the dipping dots Im eating right now. Good guilt is wanting to do more in the town we live in and be more involved, bad guilt is the fear that I will never be good enough and will take up a lot of my time. Good guilt is wanting to spend time with my family, bad guilt is wanting some alone time. Good guilt is trying to be friendly to everyone, bad guilt is sometimes hurting a friends feelings. Good guilt is running 1 more mile, bad guilt is skipping the gym. Good guilt is loving my dog, bad guilt is hating the pet hair and wishing we had a goldfish. Good guilt is wanting to please everyone, bad guilt is not giving a rats ass sometimes. Good guilt is getting things off my chest in this blog, bad guilt is not cleaning the house or reading another book to the kiddo. Good guilt is loving decorating my house, bad guilt is spending money on my wants and not my needs. Good guilt is pushing our kids into sports, bad guilt is wanting them to win and be the best all the time. Good guilt is loving my husband beyond belief, bad guilt is glad he is out of the house while at work.

In 11 days I will be a mother to a kindergartner. Didnt I just have this kid, how has 5 years already passed by. Lately when I say "yes baby" or "what baby" to his questions he reminds me that he is not a baby and that I should say to him "what big boy". He is stubborn, all boy, cute as can be, likes to get dirty and is all mine.

Trinity, Grandma Lynda and I went shopping today. We introduced Trinity to the Bolin shop till you drop extravaganza. All of which includes shopping at many stores, trying on a million pieces of clothing, eating fries and chocolate shake from steak n shake and lasting 6 hours. It has lasted longer however she is only 9 so we took an easy on her. This year she picked out her own school clothes instead of us shopping for her. She is a big girl now and she informed us that she wants a car. Really a car for your 9th birthday.....keep dreaming. She also informed us that someday she wants a tattoo and her ears pierced again so that she has 2 holes in each ear. I think she is becoming a mini me.

Preston got #12 in football- I dont know if anyone knows this but that was always my number growing up in sports. Woot! Woot!

Preston has moved up again in swim lessons. He has moved from the 9am swim lesson slot to the 10am slot that is for 6yr olds and up. Its a more challenging swim lesson but its also just what he needs to perfect his strokes in the deep end. Most kids in this class are swim team wanna be's and Preston will be the youngest since he just turned 5 in June but I know he can do it. He needs that challenge and he loves the deep end. He is now learning to dive off the diving board and not just jump off the diving board or dive from the side. He is learning back strokes right now and pretty good at it. Im very proud of him and I hope he likes his new class that starts on Monday.
We are finishing up football camp this week and then starts practices and games. This week has been full gear each night and Monday night to say it was hard for Preston would be an understatement. 1st its the first time he has had practice with all gear, 2nd it was 90+ degrees, 3rd he was hurting. He was crying and complaining about his head, we thought that he was just hot and wasnt used to his helmet. When we took the helmet off after practice he had red marks all over his head and he said he had a headache. I gave him some tylenol and the next night we switched out the pads inside his helmet to smaller ones and as soon as he put the helmet on he said "thats better". Here is a picture of Preston before his new pads, who knew it was too tight although he chipmunk squishy face probably told us and we just didnt pay attention cause he was so stinkin cute.
